Still project entries are due September 17, 2025.
With the exception of junior livestock entries, ALL entries must remain on display until

Junior Baking

Entry Fee: $2.00 per entry (Limit two (2) items per person.) 
Premiums: $4.00, $3,00, $2.00
NO items that require refrigeration – this includes cream pies. All baked items must be in disposable containers. All entries must be edible. Entries MUST be registered by 4:00pm so that judging and auction preparation may begin. Half of proceeds from the sale will go to the entrant and half to the Albany Fair Board General Fund. Items will not be on display, placings will be posted in the horticultural building, and ribbons will be distributed on Sunday with premiums.

General Junior Fair Livestock Rules

  1. All livestock entries must be received in FairEntry by September 6th. (Still project entries aren't due until September 17th.)
  2. Exhibitors must have a youth membership ticket and pay entry fee. 
  3. All exhibitors must reside in or attend the Alexander Local School District.
  4. Animals will be vet checked at the fair.
  5. Rabbit, Poultry & Fowl entries must be on display by 8:00 pm Wednesday of the fair and remain until released by the fair board on Saturday.
  6. Large livestock (dairy cattle*, swine, sheep, goats and beef cattle) entries must be on display by 8:00 pm Thursday of the fair and remain until released by the fair board on Saturday. *Lactating dairy cows may arrive the morning of the show by 8:00 am.
  7. Exhibitors will only be paid one premium per class.
  8. Animals may not be exhibited in more than one class.
  9. Animals, stalls, and tack areas are to be kept clean at all times.
  10. Exhibitors must clean pens after livestock release or forfeit premiums.​
  11. Animals will be shown clean and clipped (optional). No painting or building of any kind, on any species of animals.
  12. Judges’ decisions will be final.

JUNIOR: 9-12 years of age
NOVICE: 6-8 years of age
PEE WEE: Under 6 years of age 
Senior, Junior and Novice divisions - 1st- Banner, 2nd- rosette, 3rd – rosette;
​Pee Wee division - every exhibitor will receive $2.00, a ribbon and a medal.
 

Junior Rabbits

Entry Fee: $2.00 each animal or per meat pen of two.
All rabbit entries are due in FairEntry by Saturday, September 6th.
Rules for the rabbit division:
  1. Entries must be on display by 8:00 pm Wednesday of the fair and remain until official release on Saturday.
  2. See general junior fair livestock rules.
  3. Rabbits must be four (4) months or older to be shown at the fair.
  4. All breeds will be judged together.
  5. All of the rabbits, of assorted breeds, will be divided into their specific classes (Jr. Doe, Sr. Buck, etc.)
  6. All bucks that are over six (6) months (senior) will be judged, followed by senior does.
  7. All bucks that are under six (6) months (junior) will be judged, followed by junior does.
  8. Best juniors and best seniors will be judged, the best of  that class will be proclaimed best of show and reserve best of show.
  9.  Classes may be further broken down depending on the number of entries, at the discretion of the fair board.
  10. Meat Pens – group of two fryers (8 weeks to 14 weeks old).

 Junior Poultry & Fowl

Entry Fee: $2.00 per bird or per breeding pen of two

All poultry & fowl entries are due in FairEntry by Saturday, September 6th.
Rules for the Poultry & Fowl division:
  1. Entries must be on display by 8:00 pm Wednesday of the fair and remain until official release on Saturday.
  2. See general junior fair livestock rules.
  3. Cockerels and pullets are under 1 year of age.
  4. Roosters and hen are 1 year of age and older.
  5. Breeding pens consist of 1 rooster & 1 hen or 1 cockerel & 1 pullet.
  6. Meat Pens shall consist of 2 birds.
  7. ​Birds cannot be exhibited in more than one class.

Breed champions will receive rosettes.

  2. ​Dairy heifers and non-lactating cows must be on display by 8:00 pm Thursday and remain until released by the fair board on Saturday.
  3. Lactating cows may arrive the morning of the show by 8:00 am.
  4. Breeding females will be exhibited by breed and age.
