MISSION STATEMENT
The Albany Independent Junior Fair Board will assist the Albany
Independent Senior Fair Board in promoting the Albany Independent
Fair while learning important life skills that can be utilized in the future
to give back to their community.

In addition to assisting with the fair, Junior Fair Board members host a variety of annual events and initiatives,
including an Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk or Treat, Halloween Party, as well as fundraising efforts, food drives,
and community service projects.

Albany Independent Junior Fair Board Constitution
ARTICLE I — Name of the Organization: The organization shall be known as
the Albany Junior Fair Board. ARTICLE Il — Organization: The members of this organization shall be charged with the responsibility of conducting the Junior Division of activities at the Albany Independent Fair under the supervision of the Albany Senior Fair Board. All activities planned will meet the approval of the Senior Fair Board. The Junior Fair Board Chair, who may be a member of the Senior Fair Board, or an individual appointed by the President of the Senior Fair Board, will act as the adult advisor. ARTICLE lll - Object: The object of the Albany Junior Fair board shall be to promote and encourage agriculture, horticulture, production of quality livestock, science, technology, art, and family for the general community betterment. Additionally, the object of this group shall be to promote the Albany Independent Fair and its history, as well as give back to the community, all while developing communication and leadership skills in hopes of becoming the future leaders of tomorrow. ARTiCLE IV - Membership into the Albany Junior Fair Board: Youth that are the ages of 9 to 18 as of the Albany Independent Fair dates that year may participate on the Albany Junior Fair Board. The youth must reside in the Alexander School District and/or attend Alexander Local Schools to participate on the Junior Fair Board. Youth membership passes shall be provided to all Junior Fair Board members that meet the minimum requirements. The appointed Junior Fair Board advisor shall have the right to divide the members into groups based on age category. Section 1: Selection of Members: Individuals who are interested in participating on the Albany Junior Fair Board should reach out to the appointed Junior Fair Board advisor. All members must meet the approval of the Senior Fair Board every year. Section 2: Attendance: All members shall attend all meetings. Members shall not miss three consecutive meetings. Members must also attend a minimum of five meetings or events per school year (excluding Fair Week). If a member cannot attend a meeting/event, they shall inform the Junior Fair Board advisor beforehand. If a member does not meet the minimum requirements, they shall have their name placed before the Senior Fair Board for discussion of removal from the board. Records of attendance will be kept by the appointed Junior Fair Board advisor. Section 3: Dress Code: Members shall wear the provided Junior Fair Board shirts while present during the Fair and other fair activities. If not in a provided shirt, members shall follow the same dress code as the Alexander School District. ARTICLE V — AMENDMENTS: This constitution may be amended at any regular meeting of the Board, provided that a written notice of proposed amendments be read and filed with the Secretary at a previous regular meeting of the Board. |
